The answer is provided in a few minutes by our hand-held refractometer with Brix scale 0-10°. The high quality construction contains a copper body which provides fast temperature compensation - ATC - and is chemically less susceptible to corrosion than the aluminium refractometers often offered.
The 0° setting of the scale is done at the beginning of the measurement using a drop of water as a sample. The refractometer is very robust and has proven itself in use. Damaged protective flaps can be ordered from our shop

It works on the critical angle principle, through which lenses and prisms project a shadow line onto a small glass of reticle inside the instrument, which is then displayed to the user through a magnifying eyepiece. This makes it easy to measure the concentration of a substance in a liquid.
